Hemam utilizes sustainable agriculture practices to offer valuable assistance to smallholder farmers in Nigeria, enhancing the various value chains within the agriculture industry and promoting increased food production. Our range of services includes inputs distribution, trainings and information on best practices, farm mapping, field monitoring, inventory management, grains enhancement, storage and supply.

Hemam's Agri-SMS is an innovative solution aimed at providing farmers with crucial updates and information through SMS, enabling them to make informed decisions, optimize their farming practices, and ultimately improve their yields. On the other hand, Hemam's Solar Irrigation System and Solar-powered Rice Processor are groundbreaking solutions to support farmers in building climate resilience and contributing to food stability, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting carbon sequestration.

Hemam was established in August 2013 and officially began operations in 2015.

Hemam is governed by 4 resourceful board members who are Michael Ameh, CEO; Uyo Gladys. A, Director; Dr. Ferdinand Che, Chief Strategy and Financial Officer; and Alice Adedayo IGE, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Partnership.

Hemam has collaborated with various organizations, including the Flour Mills of Nigeria, Olam Group, Grand Cereals Ltd, Thrive Agric, Slabmark Group, Hope Flour Mills, Integrated Processors Grains Nig. Ltd, Wilson Group, etc. in different capacities throughout its eight years of operation.

At Hemam, we recognize that smallholder farmers are the vital force behind the agriculture industry and play a crucial role in achieving food security. Therefore, we prioritize addressing the challenges that hinder their progress, as we believe that by doing so, we can unlock the nation’s food production potential in two significant ways: enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and establishing a sustainable framework for more commercially focused farming rather than subsistence farming.

Hemam aims to address the global food shortage by establishing a sustainable framework that promotes best agricultural practices among smallholder farmers, who are the major food producers. We tackle their main challenges by providing them with access to inputs, training and access to profitable markets for their commodities. Additionally, we deploy advanced agricultural technology solutions to maximize value and minimize costs for smallholder farmers and other stakeholders. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure food security not only for Nigeria but for Africa and the world.
